The Grammy-winning LA Master Chorale will return to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday, February 1, 2026, with an emotional and thought-provoking double-bill - Common Ground: The Music of Górecki and Jeff Beal.
This powerful program features The Beatitudes, a world premiere from five-time Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Beal, known for his scores for TV shows including "House of Cards," “Monk" and “Rome," as well as films such as “Pollock" and “Blackfish." Beal will perform on piano and flugel horn, sharing the stage with Associate Artistic Director Jenny Wong and 80 singers.
This incredible new work will be accompanied by Henryk Górecki’s Miserere, a deeply moving piece inspired by the Polish Solidarity movement of the 1980s that the government attempted to stifle for over six years. Putting the beauty and resonance of the human voice front and center, Miserere is an awe-inspiring showcase for the LA Master Chorale singers who will perform it for the first time since 2011 when the Chorale recorded the work for Decca Records in Walt Disney Concert Hall.
If you love the sound of the Chorale coupled with passionate music from the heart, this is definitely the program for you.
